## La Plume de Feu After more than 20 years of pyrography, exploring the limits of the technique, I felt drawn towards the third dimension. I needed to touch what I was drawing. I then discovered materials and structures, and studied sculptors — Camille Claudel, Rodin, Moore, as well as the contemporary artists around me. I went on to discover foundry work with bronze and cast aluminium, revealed forms within wood, and brought different materials together. What I seek in sculpture is, through form, to express emotions, feelings, and slices of life. From this came women who I hope are filled with humanity, femininity, suffering and joy — in my image, in the image of all women, at once strong and fragile. It is not academic perfection that I seek in my work, but rather what is expressed, what one can feel when looking at or touching the pieces. Each piece has its own story, holds my story. Each piece may hold your story. Alongside this, I began sketching fountains. Simple sketches scribbled on table mats or scraps of paper, some became larger, more elaborate drawings before being studied and developed into precise plans. ## Text by Gilbert Constantin (2006) As part of my presentation draws from a text written by Gilbert Constantin in 2006, I share the original here: > « When art reveals itself > > Every individual, from birth, carries a heritage from their ancestors, their origins and their genetics. That is my conviction. Meet Véronique's gaze, look deeply into it, and you will find both her generosity, her strength and her shyness. But above all you will find her thirst for sharing, understanding, exploration, listening and creation. > > After more than 20 years of pyrography, practised with mastery, she feels irresistibly drawn towards the third dimension, needing to touch what she draws. She then discovers materials and structures and studies sculptors. Camille Claudel, Rodin, Moore, and what is contemporary around her… The stimulation grows. She discovers foundry work with bronze, tries wood, cast aluminium then stone, before ultimately combining materials, always preserving her integrity. Emotion and feeling are her guiding words. Yes, Véronique is an artist of feelings and emotions. To discover her, one must let go; come with no preconceptions, allow yourself to drift, to encounter her eternal women, full of humanity, femininity, suffering and joy, who are made in her image. > > Behind her deep gaze, a generous, strong, shy, gentle woman is moving forward in creation. She will surprise us still… » > > — [Gilbert Constantin](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilbert_Constantin) (1947 - 2010), Painter and sculptor
